Closer ties key for QPSW
Quaker Peace & Social Witness' autumn conference took place on 1 November
Seventy-five Friends gathered at Swanwick, Derbyshire, from 30 October to 1 November 2015, for the annual Quaker Peace & Social Witness (QPSW) autumn conference.
Themes addressed at the gathering included the changing nature of QPSW and developing closer ties with Quaker Life. Participants discussed working ‘more with and through partners’ in overseas projects and with Local Meetings to support their concerns and help them speak out effectively.
QPSW secretary general Helen Drewery spoke on the main themes and looked back at Friends’ work historically on slavery, prison reform, and war relief. Alistair Fuller of Quaker Life spoke of the spiritual roots of the organisation’s work.
