Three Friends appointed to roles in Yorks mayoral party

by Tara Craig 15th July 2016

For the first time in York’s history the mayoral party is from the Green Party, and three local Quakers are among those involved.

Jonathan Tyler has been installed as sheriff, the oldest such honour in England, Brenda Tyler as sheriff’s lady and Carol Robinson as sheriff’s chaplain.

York Friend Bronwen Gray said: ‘We look forward to the team bringing a Quaker flavour to these long-established civic responsibilities.’
