‘Peace and reconciliation’ is the theme of this year’s Christian Aid Week, which runs from 11 to 17 May.

‘War tears lives apart’, Rowan Williams, chair of Christian Aid, states in one of the films made to promote the theme of the week. ‘Forty two million people have been driven from their homes as a result of conflict. We cannot turn our backs. We need to act and we need to act now.’

The week focuses on the growing number of people across the world for whom the horror of war is part of their daily life.
