Choice: Daniel Clarke Flynn positively discriminates

‘You might even reach something better than what you were expecting.’

As a human being with the ability to choose – unlike anything else we know of in creation – I have come to believe that the most important question that I need to ask is: ‘What do I want today?’ I then wait for intuitions and unplanned thoughts to come to me. I can then take time to discern which ones will work best for me and whether I should take action on them.

Asking ‘What do I want?’ is, for me, a prayer towards creative power within me. Expressing what I think I want is also a prayer of thanks, with the hope that I will eventually reach whatever Creation is attracting me to be and do.

I no longer am concerned about who or what I may be praying to. I am not equipped as a human being to know that with certainty. I do know from experience, however, that prayer works to open me to possibilities, particularly when I leave the results of my actions to Creation.

In praying ‘What do I want?’, I practice humility, simply acknowledging that I don’t know, and that other people, and these intuitions, might offer me exactly what I need to learn.

As human beings, we all have the power to choose an attitude – positive or negative – no matter what the circumstances. But we are unequal in our circumstances and life experience. No one has lived your life except you, or my life except me. You will get different answers than I will. That is why I need community: to hear answers that work for others, to balance the answers that come ‘from my heart’ that I think will work for me. Active participation in community improves the range and diversity of the answers I can choose to act on. I improve my choices by listening to the answers of others.

Subsequently, however, the action that I choose to take always needs to be tested by asking ‘Does it really work?’

I have learned that no one person has The Answer, The Truth, but that each of us has a part of it. We are all needed in Creation. We are, each and every one, a tiny spark of the Light of Creation. Each of us has part of the answer, and together we will progress on this journey we call life, in this vast universe of interconnected ever-changing observable matter, and ever-constant invisible energy.

I have come to believe that life is, as ancient wisdom suggests, a self-fulfilling prophecy. It becomes what we think it is, and we become who we think we are. We become co-creators by opening our hearts and minds.

So, think positive of yourself and others, and you will succeed in reaching what you are seeking; you might even reach something better than what you were expecting. That is called by some ‘serendipity’, discovering something better than what you were looking for. When I do practice ‘choosing positive’, what I experience at the end of the day is gratitude.

So, what do I want today? I want to wake up each day, show up for life, be present to myself and others, and follow the positive signposts of inspiration that come from intuition and other people. What do you want today? Who or what inspires you, and what do you practice to receive answers that ‘speak to you’?

Another beautiful editing and presentation. Decades ago, I read that “every good writer needs a good editor”. So, thanks, friends! See you soon at BYM.
