Cherry blossom
'Cherry blossom' by Ann Fox
Outside my window I can see
Pink blossom on the cherry tree.
Delicate, a lovely sight,
It gives me such intense delight.
Cold wind blows and swirls around,
Pink petals strewn now on the ground.
The tree is stripped and looks so bare,
No more a sight on which to stare.
Our bloom of youth went long ago,
And many friends we used to know.
But the tree is luckier, for next year
Its full blossom will again appear.
