Central England Quakers co-hosted an event at Birmingham Central Mosque this month as part of their commitment to working towards climate justice.

The day on 17 February was part of the ‘Show the Love’ movement organised by The Climate Coalition, which is the operating name for the charity the Climate Movement.

Chris Martin, clerk of Central England Quakers Low Carbon Commitment Forum, told the Friend that Central England Quakers decided to support The Climate Coalition during Area Meeting one year ago when Friends adopted an environmental policy.

He said: ‘Contact with [the] Climate Coalition… came directly from Faith for the Climate Network’s coordinator, Lizzie Nelson, speaking at the Footsteps’ event “Tread Lightly on this Earth: Exploring food, faith and living sustainably”, held at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Smethwick on 18 November.’
