Ceilidh time at Woodbrooke
Students from Quaker schools gather at Woodbrooke
More than twenty pupils from seven UK and Ireland Quaker schools gathered at the Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre recently.
The Year Twelve students – sixteen- and seventeen-year-olds – travelled to Birmingham from Ackworth, Bootham, The Mount, Sibford, Saffron Walden, Lisburn and Newtown schools.
They spent from 21 to 23 June at Woodbrooke, taking part in activities ranging from a ceilidh to a Meeting for Clearness exercise.
The students also looked at Quaker history through drama and considered Quaker testimony and decision-making, Connar O’Keeffe of Woodbrooke told the Friend.
A walking tour of ‘Quaker Bournville’ included a visit to the Cadbury factory.
