Cadbury visit echoes Sibford history
Mark Cadbury visits Sibford School
Caring and respect were highlighted recently by Mark Cadbury as central to the atmosphere of a Quaker school.
He made the remark on his first visit to Sibford School, where he was guest speaker at the school’s Evening of Celebration on 11 September. The annual event acknowledges the success of the school’s GCSE and A Level students.
‘I arrived early today to get a feel about the school, and it is about that atmosphere of caring and respect,’ Mark, who is a trustee of The George Cadbury Trust, said.
Sibford has strong ties with the Cadbury family. Mark’s great grandmother dame Elizabeth Cadbury performed the opening ceremony of the current campus in 1930.
Mark told a 170-strong audience that he hoped the George Cadbury Trust would be able to work with the school in the future. He explained that all five of the trustees are descendants of George Cadbury.
