Britain Yearly Meeting protests against the repeal of the Human Rights Act

by Tara Craig 27th May 2016

Britain Yearly Meeting has added its name to the list of organisations protesting against the repeal of the Human Rights Act.

In her speech on 18 May the queen referred to the government’s plans to replace the Act with a ‘British Bill of Rights’. It is expected to diminish the protection of rights for UK citizens. More than 130 UK organisations have publicly committed themselves to opposing a repeal of the Act.
