'The new roles are part of BYM’s simpler church project and its shift to more local working.'
Britain Yearly Meeting (BYM) has appointed two new local development workers (LDWs) to start early in the year. These are Ruth Audus and Melanie Thomas.
Grace Da Costa, public affairs and media manager for BYM, told the Friend: ‘Ruth Audus starts on Tuesday 4 January working with West Weald, Surrey and Hampshire Borders, Sussex East, Sussex West, East Kent and West Kent Area Meetings. Ruth will be based at her home in Sussex and Alistair Fuller will be her line manager.’
Melanie Thomas is starting on Monday 28 February working with Cumberland, Northumbria, Teesdale & Cleveland, and Wensleydale & Swaledale Area Meetings. Grace Da Costa said: ‘Melanie currently lives in Nottingham and will be relocating to Cumbria where she will be based at home. Sophie Smith will be her line manager.’
The new roles are part of BYM’s simpler church project and its shift to more local working. BYM is also re-advertising the media officer role.
