Bruce Kent talks peace at Bootham
Bruce Kent to appear during a series of peace talks
Bruce Kent, honorary vice-president of the Campaign For Nuclear Disarmament, will speak at Bootham School in October.
The Quaker school in York is hosting a series of events, arranged by local Friends, to highlight issues related to peace.
The series is entitled ‘Talking of Peace’ and the free talks will take place at Bootham during October.
The first talk will be given by Haleh Afshar, professor of politics at the University of York, and will focus on ‘Iran: problems and possibilities’.
Bruce Kent talks about ‘The United Nations: its relevance today’ on Tuesday 16 October.
The final talk is by Claire Smith, of the University of York, who will speak about ‘Rebuilding societies after wars’.
