Bournville Quakers have knitted hundreds of six-inch squares to make a ‘tree cosy’. The item was installed on 4 September on a large Atlantic Cedar outside their Meeting house. It is due to be taken down after the UN Conference of Parties (COP26) in November in time for the tree to become the annual Bournville Village Christmas Tree.

Local Friend Claire Bowman told the Friend: ‘Friends have put up bunting on nearby railings with messages about climate change and are ordering postcards to send to MPs. Visitors are invited to take photos and share them on social media. Hundreds of people visit the iconic building each year and there will be a good opportunity to talk about the issues this Saturday [September 11] when it opens for Heritage Open Day.’
