Quakers in Bath are supporting the Hebron International Resources Network

Bath Quakers have agreed to support the Hebron International Resources Network (HIRN) with the intention of helping girls attend school.

The decision made in March to support the network followed what Bath Quakers reported as ‘a lively meeting’ three days earlier, when Friends heard about HIRN projects. These include: setting up a honey farm, providing whiteboards for a school and rebuilding a community centre.

Bath Quaker Ali Morgan, trustee of Friends of HIRN UK, has applied for Quaker funding of around £5,000 per year on behalf of the group. According to Bath Friends: ‘This would make it possible to get Bedouin girls safely to school from scattered nomadic villages. The vehicles are there but no money for fuel, maintenance and payment of drivers.’
