Bath Friend talks on nonviolence
Lois Bibbings, a Quaker and professor, gave her inaugural lecture on the history of nonviolence
Bath Quaker professor Lois Bibbings gave her inaugural lecture on the history of nonviolence on 31 October. The professor of law, gender and history at the University of Bristol Law School talked about legal cases from different historical periods. According to Bath Quakers, the threads tell a ‘broader tale’ about violence and nonviolence, gender and history.
The talk at the Priory Road Complex Lecture Theatre in Bristol follows a panel discussion in which professor Lois Bibbings took part on the ‘commemoration of resistance to war’ on 4 October during Quaker Week. It was organised by the academic and author Kate Macdonald.
