Carla Denyer, a Quaker local government councillor, has been awarded the Clarence Barrett Award for Outstanding Achievement 2018-2019

A Quaker local government councillor for the Green Party has received an award for proposing the first successful climate emergency motion in Europe.

Carla Denyer, Green councillor in Bristol, was given the Clarence Barrett Award for Outstanding Achievement 2018-2019 at the South West Green Party Summer Conference this month.

Eleanor Combley, leader of Bristol Green Councillors, presented the prize from LGA Independent Group for inspiring and driving Bristol City Council to declare Europe’s first climate emergency on 13 November 2018.
