A United States senate candidate who is a Quaker has received online death threats because she chose not to take the pledge of allegiance.
On a Facebook page, which has since been deleted, it was suggested that Sara Niccoli, a Democratic candidate running for election in Palatine, New York, was ‘not a patriot’ and should be ‘put on a terrorist watch list’.
Members of the local government in Palatine called on the police to investigate the threats.
