After silence, music

Lottie Greenhow was invited to speak at Evensong at Jesus College, Cambridge, where she has sung in the chapel choir for the last year. This is what she had to say

People are usually quite surprised when I tell them I’m a Quaker, generally because they can’t imagine someone like me being able to sit quietly for an entire hour. What really surprises people, however, is the fact that for a long time I kept faith and music entirely separate. I started the violin when I was four, I read Music at university and I now work for opera singers and sing extensively in my spare time. Surely, when I have a passion for both music and faith, it makes sense to combine the two?
