Accountability and decisions
Concerns regarding how major decisions are made were raised at Yearly Meeting
A plea for more accountability in the making of major decisions in the Society of Friends was raised from the floor at Britain Yearly Meeting.
A Friend suggested that many Friends have not kept up with the changes that have been made since Canterbury 2011 and reminded those present that, no matter what is decided, ‘the final authority will always be the gathered Meeting’.
She said that she was now genuinely confused. She asked: ‘Where does authority lie? Who is actually in charge? Is it Yearly Meeting? Is it trustees? Is it Meeting for Sufferings?’
Many Friends present clearly supported her.

Very glad this matter was raised, and hope for early clarification
