A witness for peace

Witney, an Oxfordshire market town once known for making woolly blankets, lies on the doorstep of the Cotswolds. Seven miles to the west is RAF Brize Norton, the air base through which, for a number of years, military personnel have been repatriated. Like Wootton Basset before it, local people have prepared a small but dignified and supportive reception for the fallen men and women and their families.

Mindful of this, and of the presence of many military personnel resident in the area, Witney Quakers have built up a relationship of acknowledgement and under-standing with the active British Legion in Witney. We know and respect each other’s views.
