The Quaker Council for European Affairs (QCEA) has appointed Andrew Lane as the deputy representative focusing on QCEA programmes in criminal justice and peace. He joined the staff in Brussels earlier this month.

Andrew has been working in Bedford as policy advisor to a regional police commissioner in one of the most ethnically diverse parts of the UK. In the last seven years he has championed diversity and inclusion within the police service and worked to reduce violence in his community. In the police, and as a prison mentor, Andrew has worked with a range of victims and offenders.

He has degrees in international politics from Aberystwyth and peacekeeping from Birmingham. He has also studied transnational organised crime at Staffordshire University. Andrew is a member of Quakers in Criminal Justice and will be speaking at their conference in February.
