History was made at QCEA on 9 October
History was made at the Quaker Council for European Affairs (QCEA) on 9 October when four representatives, two office managers, a policy and advocacy officer and two programme assistants were all together at Quaker House, Brussels. Pictured are QCEA staff past and present: Alexandra Bosbeer, Martina Weitsch, Viviane Nolf, Gordon Matthews, Paul Parrish, Liz Scurfield, Chris Venables, Bethany Squire and Xavier Verhaeghe.
For the past decade QCEA has been steered by Liz Scurfield and Martina Weitsch, who are now retiring to London. The new representatives, Gordon Matthews and Alexandra Bosbeer, are already working on themes such as peace and global justice, alongside Paul Parrish, who is focusing on sustainability and energy security. Starting off as programme assistants are Bethany Squire and Chris Venables. Viviane Nolf has supported QCEA since April as office manager, and her husband, Xavier Verhaeghe, manages the maintenance of Quaker House, Brussels.
