I am writing this article looking out over the beautiful grounds of Woodbrooke on a bright January morning. Many of you will be familiar with Woodbrooke, but for those who are not, it is a Quaker study and conference centre, located in Birmingham. I am here with my partner, Tim, and ten-month-old baby son, Wilfrid, and together the three of us are undertaking a ‘Friend in Residence’ post for a couple of weeks.
