2016 Eva Koch scholars
Four scholars presented their findings at Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre
Presentations were given at the Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre in Birmingham on Saturday 20 August by the four 2016 Eva Koch scholars.
The open event was held in the Cadbury Room and the four scholars – Jane Pearn, Joycelin Dawes, Anne de Gruchy and Rhiannon Grant – talked about the work they had undertaken during their scholarship.
Jane Pearn’s focus was on current Quaker understanding of ‘concern’ and the subject of Joycelin Dawes’ scholarship was discernment.
Anne de Gruchy considered the question: ‘What do we mean by our Quaker testimony of simplicity?’
Rhiannon Grant looked at the development and effects of the practice of ‘afterword’.
