From wholly -owned company to the ministry of scholarship

Extend the hand of friendship

Further to the report on this item from the Meeting for Sufferings held at Friends House on Saturday, 2 October (8 October), I thought it would be worth clarifying that Friends House London Hospitality Ltd is the wholly owned trading arm of Britain Yearly Meeting and not an independent company as reported. The company was set up to oversee lettings and hospitality that brings in income to support Quaker work. The staff, who are not all Quakers, fully understand the values of the Society and try to apply these when taking enquires for bookings. The staff felt very upheld by the minute made by Sufferings in making these sometimes difficult decisions on behalf of Friends.
