Hustings at Friends House

Ian Kirk-Smith reports on the recent hustings held at Friends House

The international dimension to the general election was the subject of the first hustings to be organised in the Large Meeting House at Friends House in London.

It was a revealing evening. The weakness of the smaller parties on international issues was rather exposed and the defensiveness of the two candidates representing the parties of government obvious.

The event, which was held on the evening of Tuesday 31 March, drew a large audience and was chaired by Jessica Metheringham, parliamentary engagement officer at Friends House.
