Quakers building a living wage community
An Area Meeting has become an accredited Living Wage employer
South East Scotland Area Meeting is now an accredited Living Wage employer.
The Area Meeting joins a growing group of Living Wage accredited Area Meetings in Britain who pay not only their employees at least the real living wage recommended by the Living Wage Foundation but also ensure that suppliers of services to the Meeting pay it.
Ann Morgan, convenor of the Quaker Living Wage Campaign Group, congratulated the Area Meeting on becoming a Living Wage employer and highlighted the positive consequences of the decision on the lives of ordinary people.
‘Paying a fair wage’, she said, ‘makes a huge difference to people’s lives’.
