Gerald Conyngham reflects on the lessons that can be learned from the Climate Camp
Walking down Wat Tyler Road on Blackheath Common, I realized that the campers had chosen an ideal spot for their camp: site of the Peasants’ Revolt in 1381, it’s also common land from which they could not be evicted. The city of London, their target, could be seen clearly. The camp itself comprised elements of conference, strategy planning event and festival including many workshops.... The climate campers’ goals are very ambitious, nothing less than the transformation of society. Can we share their vision?
