Six key questions have been prepared by the Ammerdown Group

by Harry Albright 12th May 2017

The Ammerdown Group, which includes Quaker Peace & Social Witness, has issued a briefing paper ahead of the general election.

The paper provides an analysis of current shortcomings in government policy and six key questions for candidates:

  • How is security defined?
  •
  • Who are the intended beneficiaries of UK security policy?
  •
  • What are the greatest risks to the security of these beneficiaries in the short and long term?
  •
  • What approaches and resources are needed to build security and respond effectively to insecurity?
  •
  • What kinds of strategic alliances does the UK need to prioritise, to build long-term security?
  •
  • How can security policy become more democratic?
