Election briefing on security
Six key questions have been prepared by the Ammerdown Group
The Ammerdown Group, which includes Quaker Peace & Social Witness, has issued a briefing paper ahead of the general election.
The paper provides an analysis of current shortcomings in government policy and six key questions for candidates:
- How is security defined?
- Who are the intended beneficiaries of UK security policy?
- What are the greatest risks to the security of these beneficiaries in the short and long term?
- What approaches and resources are needed to build security and respond effectively to insecurity?
- What kinds of strategic alliances does the UK need to prioritise, to build long-term security?
- How can security policy become more democratic?
