Andrew Backhouse celebrates what Quakers are doing in Britain today

Would you go to a meeting if the recording clerk was listed as a speaker on ‘Talking dirty’? And what might you learn for your Meeting house?

These were two of many topics of interest that were raised when staff, volunteers and trustees from a range of Quaker premises – from accommodation to Meeting houses – met in February at Glenthorne Quaker Guest House to share questions, solutions and look at our strategies. The meeting was open to any Quaker Meeting or building that had more than two staff members. It revealed a lot of very exciting work that is being done by Quakers in Britain today.
