Those wonderful steam trains!

We would stick our corporate necks out and say that travel by rail is the preferred Quaker transport. Many of you have been watching Michael Portillo’s television series on British journeys and you will be pleased to hear that the Quaker Tapestry in Kendal is about to mount a new display of Friends’ involvement in the development of the railways. We hear there will be a working model railway on show.

Sheila Williams and Chris Bullard of the Tapestry told us they were delighted to see Eye highlighting George Bradshaw, the train timetable genius, because he is very much in their minds.
