Friends, especially those who work in special provision or in challenging state schools, might be interested in a new interactive, fictional internet blog about Ofsted, bullying and transformational leadership. ‘Turbulent School’ is set in an ‘intractable’ school called Eydon Vale. ‘Intractable’ means that a school has not received a Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ grade in fifteen years. ‘Turbulent’ schools are a tiny and unacknowledged group – less than 0.6 per cent of the total – which, at the time the blog writer joined the school, could be closed by the secretary of state because of the danger of riot.
