Facing a Central Hall packed with over a thousand all-age Gatherers, already two-and-a-half days into creating its own community, representing a diverse range of home communities and supported by thousands of dedicated person-hours of preparation, Jennifer Barraclough, Monday’s keynote speaker, could have been forgiven for feeling a little daunted. ‘O Lord, you appear to have sent me’, said Jennifer, with apologies to Isaiah, a self-deprecatory opening which went a long way towards establishing her own community of sympathy with her audience.
