Three members of Westminster Meeting, London, featured in the recent birthday honours list.

Michael Bartlet, lately parliamentary liaison secretary for the Religious Society of Friends in Britain from 1996 to 2013, was awarded an MBE for services to equality and social justice.

As parliamentary liaison secretary, Michael represented Quakers to government, influencing legislative proposals and government policy. He also advised staff and committees, and organised delegations, conferences and seminars.

Michael successfully campaigned for same sex marriage in Quaker Meeting houses and for a statutory right of discharge for under-eighteen-year-olds in the UK armed forces.

Caroline Nursey, executive director of BBC Media Action, received an OBE for services to media development in developing countries.

The third member of the Meeting to be honoured was David Stanton, who was appointed Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG).

David, a former chair of the board of trustees for UNICEF UK, was recognised for his services to children and to international development.
